Readings are done either in my consulting room in Sussex, or by email or phone.

You do not have to have a specific question to consult the I Ching. Just as people often consult astrologers to get some idea of upcoming trends and influences in their lives, the I Ching can advise you on the general quality of a time or situation.   (I always consult it on New Year's Eve, for an overview of the coming year).

However, if you do have a specific question, I will ask you to explain a bit about the situation in question. We may discuss the matter in some depth, so that I can help you formulate a question that can result in a useful answer.

Once we have a question settled, I will throw the coins and note whether they come up heads or tails.   I will repeat this six times.   This tells me which one, out of 262,144 possibilities, the oracle presents.

I will then consult the original Chinese characters, as well as a selection of commentaries, and interpret the oracle with you.

Readings generally take about an hour.

For a very complex situation, it is possible to book a half-day session so that several readings can be done, covering various aspects of the matter.

For a long or especially complex reading, a full day in your home or place of work can be arranged.
